I am Light

After the Earth, Light is the natural next breath — once something is rooted and safe, the question shifts from can I trust the ground beneath me, and my own body as part of earth? to …

  • What wants to shine through me now?

  • How do I live my purpose, my radiance, my inner power — the fire moving through this earth body?

  • What brings me most alive, and how do I catch the currents of life itself?

  • How do I access my highest self?

I am light. I am light. I am light.

Let’s approach this I Am with some openness. Light has been relegated to woo-woo land, and I want us to claim it back — as real, as true, as a re-sourcing.

So, notice your judgements as we head in. Welcome them, gently.

Remember: our protections and defenses are intelligent — they’re part of our trauma architecture, and they were needed, because of what we experienced. But we don’t want to follow trauma. We want to heal it. It isn’t a wise guide. It is a hurt one. I know I keep saying that — I’ll keep bringing it back into our dialogue, because it helps us find the places in us that aren’t trauma, that are wise guides.

Let’s come back to the light

Let’s start by activating our cellular intelligence. At the heart of every cell is the mitochondria — tiny structures often called the powerhouse of the cell. They produce energy, sense and communicate, regulate. And they absorb light. That’s how they create and boost cellular energy production, repair, healing, evolution.

In every cell of your body is a powerhouse. A whare of light.

ITake a moment. Imagine this. Feel this. Feel the lighthouse these make within your own body’s system.

I feel a root problem of our whole struggling world is the severed self. We are severed — from each other, from ourselves, from the earth, from our soul, from the light we all embody.

I work a lot with religious trauma, and religion did a fine job of severing us from our own light, our own divinity — turning it into something we had to earn, to deserve, to punish ourselves and others over.

Returning to ourselves as source, as light, is vital if we want to turn a struggling world into a healing one.

Our soul is around us. We are a field of consciousness, of light, and our bodies live within this — in communion with the light of our own consciousness. We are part of the whole universe, a holon, a fractal — our bodies an assemblage of intelligences gathered across eons and eras, ancestral rivers and stars.

To me, these mantras we’re working with — I Am Earth, and now I Am Light — are all true together.

We’ll journey with the others in the coming months (I Am Healing, I Am Wild, I Am Here, I Am Love), each one a fierce rewirer of an inheritance of separation and severing. We’ll bring them together into wholeness at the end. But it’s good to immerse in each one first, to let it develop in you.

They will confuse and disrupt the brain’s synapses, and in that disruption, carve new pathways — pathways we can open, into our fullness, our wholeness, our withness, our usness, our togetherness, our lightness.

Our light is also our inspiration, our purpose, our vitality — our medicine for the world.

You are responsible for bringing that into the world, and for getting the support you need to do so, which we all need.  Our purpose is always more than a role, it is the expression of ourselves into the world, in service of life.

A light practice can truly help you activate your higher self, your higher frequency, your wisdom to guide your life, you can learn to access this.

Here is a play-sheet to help you explore the things that bring you alive and allow your light to shine. Inside you will also find an audio to guide you in a simple but powerful light practice. Start a light practice every day, even for a few minutes at a time.

Be your own living scientist — an explorer of your own light, in your body, around you, and in the broader depths of consciousness.

See, also if you can see the light, the essence of others as you go about your days.
